Yoga Therapy for Chronic Pain

March 7 - April 16, 2022

Nitika will offer a lecture about yoga for those experiencing chronic pain as part of the Psychology and Mental Health yoga therapy training. This course examines psychology and conceptions of mental and emotional health through the lens of the time-tested wisdom and practices of Yoga. Basic Yoga Teacher Training

May 31 - Nov 1, 2022

Integral Yoga Institute of San Francisco is offering a Yoga teacher training for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who are interested in becoming yoga teachers, led by 100% BIPOC teacher trainers.  

The program provides a great foundation for practicing, teaching and understanding Yoga and yogic lifestyle. It will give you the ability to teach beginner and advanced beginner level Haṭha classes in any Integral Yoga centers around the world.  


The training curriculum is based on the 40 year IYI teacher training tradition taught through an anti-racist lens.

Rewild Retreat

October 3 | 8 am - 5 pm

Rewild Retreat is a sacred adventure for Womxn of Color who are ready to receive more deeply and be in community with intention and presence. Through movement, meditation, healing touch and sound, herb walks and farm to table meals we invite you to return to your essence. Set on the shores of the Chesapeake bay we will use the elements of salt, water, earth and air to rewild.

Fascinated by plant medicine but not sure where to begin? Empower yourself through ancient techniques and modern science with Clinical Herbalist Nitika Achalam of True Grit Wellness. During this workshop series you will learn about key concepts of working with plants and herbal remedies to bring the body back into balance. The complete series will give beginners a solid base and intermediate practitioners a leg up in herbalism so that you are able to use herbs safely and effectively at home. Register for just one or as many as you like.

Accessible Herbalism

October 24 | 11 am - 12:30 pm 

In this foundational session we’ll discuss herbalism as resistance and how to take action in support of your own health with plant medicine. We’ll explore plants, how the body works, global herbal systems and the safe, accessible tools of holistic herbalism. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how to work with easy-to-find, inexpensive herbs with low risk of adverse effects. We’ll also cover common health concerns.

Plant Medicine, Plant Magic

October 31 | 11 am - 1 pm

A crash course in how to lay the groundwork for an at-home magical herbalism practice. Nitika will explain what herbalism is, what it’s not, and how it can coexist with other wellness and healthcare practices. Together we’ll create a practical and magical remedy to add to your toolkit.

Immune Support

November 7 | 11 am - 1 pm

In this session you’ll learn herbal methods that provide an assist to the systems of the body that fight dis-ease. You’ll make and take an autumn harvest tonic to help protect the body from outside invaders. (Additional $15 fee for materials.)
